DIRECTOR - KASIA KOWALCZYK was born in 1977 by the Baltic Sea in Poland. In 1981, her parents decided to move to Tasmania, but somehow they ended up in Atlanta, Georgia. When she turned 18, she abandoned her dream of becoming an astronaut and attended the Atlanta College of Art to pursue photography. College turned out to be a rather unfulfilling pursuit and she left to deliver newspapers as the great Albert Einstein once had. Several jobs later, she realized that her original attraction to photography was about being able to tell stories visually and that what she really wanted to be was a director. Since then she has directed 3 short films and a music video with her husband Tal Harris and has only seen her passion for filmmaking increase.
PRODUCER - TAL HARRIS was born in 1966 in Savannah Georgia, though his family moved shortly there after to Minnesota, a state that he is proud to call home. Tal came to filmmaking later in life after quitting a Ph.D. program in Child and Family Development. It was around this time that he met Kasia Kowalczyk and together they starting pursuing their dreams of making films together. Since then he is proud to have produced 3 short films and a music video with Kasia and he sees her as one of the brightest and most talented people he's ever met. When he was watching the dailies from their first short he knew this is what they were meant to do together.
PRODUCER - BEATRICE VON SCHWERIN graduated from AFI in December 2015. In 2016, she produced the feature film Inheritance (2017), starring Mark Webber, and she co-produced the The Feels (2017), starring Constance Wu. Previously, she worked in the Scandinavian film and television industry for more than a decade. Starting out in the art department, she moved into production in 2008, working as an assistant producer at one of the top Danish production companies, Miso Film, where she worked on Dicte: Crime Reporter(2012), 1864 (2014) , Those Who Kill (2011) and Sally Potter's Ginger & Rosa (2012). Beatrice's AFI thesis All These Voices (2015) won a Student Academy Award in 2016. Her short Peaceforce (2011) won the Canal+ Prize at the 2011 Clermont Ferrand Film Festival, and it was nominated for the Robert, the Danish equivalent to the Academy awards, for best short.
CINEMATOGRAPHER - DAUD SANI is an award winning cinematographer based in Los Angeles. He's spent years cultivating a unique style for his work having shot feature films, commercials, music video, shorts, and non-scripted content. His current work ranges from commercial jobs to smaller passion projects and independent films. From narrative to documentary, his work has been featured in over 20 film festivals including The Los Angeles Film Festival, The Napa Valley Film Festival, and The American Documentary Film Festival. His commercial work includes brands such as Facebook, Pinterest, Sony, and more.
